Fixture for Heat Treating Nitonol
Project Type: Research for MIT's Traverso Lab (Medical Devices)
Duration: February - June 2021
I conducted research for the Traverso Lab at MIT, where I designed and prototyped mechanisms to build an intra-gastrointestinal device that dynamically maps stomach. Furthermore, I developed and conducted experiments to characterize material performance and assess existing designs. I manually machined the following fixture using a lathe and mill. I then used the fixture to heat treat Nitinol. This process was crucial for the project.
